Significance
Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrates the advent of Lord Sri Krishna, the eternal teacher of the Bhagavad Gita. The occasion holds a special place in the tradition, in which it is recounted that Lord Krishna blessed Sri Ramchandraji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur and his family with spiritual and material prosperity for generations to come.
Observance
ISRC observes Janmashtami with congregational sittings and discourses. Falling in the lunar month of Bhadrapada, the festival is celebrated in August or early September, the date varying from year to year.
